Pastor’s Message

ScanI was saved August 1, 1974, at the Rodgers Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. Three years later, August 25, 1977 I surrendered to preach and immediately enrolled in Bible training at the Independent Baptist College in Dallas, Texas. The following year, in February of 1978, Jan was saved. I received my Associate of Theology in May of 1980 and was ordained by our home church, Rodgers Baptist Church, on Sunday, March 22, 1981. I continued my education through the years and received my Bachelors of Theology and a Masters in Ministry from the Great Plains Baptist College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

After pastoring for three years in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the Lord led us to Pueblo, Colorado, in 1984 to begin a new church. In January of 1989, the Heritage Baptist Church was organized. I remained pastor of this new church until 1993, when the Lord led me to continue a church planting ministry in Colorado Springs. In August of 2004 I returned to Rodgers Baptist Church as Associate Pastor until the Lord called me back to the pastorate of the Heritage Baptist Church in July of 2005.

My lovely wife, Jan and I have three grown, married children and several grandchildren. We rejoice in God’s faithfulness and count it all joy to give Him “glory in the church.”
